Here’s a great recipe brought to us in 2017 by Nazanin of the blog teathoughts.com. She is a lover of all things tea and rice and was kind enough to share her recipe with one of our favourite oolongs: Alishan High Mtn Eco Red.
As she said in her blog post, “…the flavors of the oolong cut the garlic the perfect amount and give the rice a little more depth than when it’s cooked with plain water. Essentially, you are replacing the water used in the recipe to cook the rice with brewed tea. The tea cooks the rice and also infuses it with the oolong flavour.”
Rice and tea make a wonderful pairing and don’t be afraid to experiment with other teas to expand your culinary horizons.
